Age groups
You can become a member of Scouting at any age starting from 5 and a half to 6 year old up to 8 as a Beaver.
7 and a half to 10 and a half as a Cub Scout and from 10 to 14 and a half as a Scout.
14 to 18 are Explorer Scouts and Network is till you are 25 year olds.
Become an adult helper, by volunteering with us.
We are always looking for Adult help as Occasional Helpers and Assistant Section Leaders to assist in the running of an extensive program.
We need people who like seeing children of all ages grow in Knowledge, Confidence and Leadership.
You can be involved behind the scenes by assisting with driving children to camps, events and trips, also directly teaching skills from diy to cooking, photography to astronomy. Don't be frightened as a team we support you with training and you are never on your own with a support backing of thousands of other volunteers worldwide.
DBS Checks will be required to be carried out in order to work or volunteer with children in the UK by law.

Costs
Costs.
Subs are paid weekly at £3.50 once you are invested (which happens after you have attended for 3 weeks) you must pay £1.50 for each missed week
New members have to buy there own uniform available from certain retailers or scout shops you may choose to purchase a second hand one, the Neckerchief (or scarf) is provided by the group at a cost of £4.50
Insurance is covered within this amount hence why you pay for missed weeks rather than an annual membership fee
Subs covers the weekly program costs inc badges
Camping and trips.
These will be charged accordingly with no obligation to attend but they are part of the fun and learning.

Santas Grotto Fundraiser
A big thank you to all the Hucknall community that supported our Santa's Grotto during the Christmas lights switch on last Wednesday. We raised valuable funds for our group.
Donate towards our replacement building fund.
Our old temporary wooden hut that we use for each sections meeting every week in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire was donated to us back in the late 60's early 70's and was originally a school building in Bottesford during the 2nd world war and was moved from Bottesford to Hucknall. It really has done it's job but now is not fit for purpose we urgently need money to rebuild how much we raise will determine the construction type.
We will be holding several fundraising events as well as asking for donations. Look out for event dates on here and on social media.

David also is Group Administrator and has duty's such as DBS checks on all volunteers inc group helpers and leaders and some correspondence such as new member enquirers.

Cubs is based around the Rudyard Kipling story "Jungle Book" Rudyard was a personal friend off the Scout movement founder "Baden Powell"
